A new website, Talking Central South, is set to launch at this year’s Regenerate South Conference on 7 October 2021 at the Hilton Hotel, Bournemouth.

The website developed by BECG, will provide an innovative new platform to promote the region, showcasing its unique assets, skills, and opportunities for investment.

It will cover such topics as the economy, leisure, heritage, and education. Rural and maritime issues will also be included in sections focusing on both the ‘green’ and ‘blue’ environment.

The website will also profile major projects in the region, such as Lennox Point in Portsmouth and the Mayflower Quarter in Southampton. It will also carry regular news updates, including how the region is making a strong recovery from the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

Andrew Howard, Managing Director at BECG, said:

We’ve identified a gap in the market where the Central South could be promoting itself more effectively. The region is unique and is very successful with so much to offer, but until now there wasn’t a single platform which offered everything in one place for those keen to learn more and how to invest in the area.

BECG has worked in partnership with Business South to create the website, which is being launched at the Regenerate South Conference in Bournemouth on 7 October.

The annual event – postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak – brings together a host of political representatives along with major developers and investors.

It will build upon the success of previous events which have attracted more than 200 investors and developers, and Business South is working closely with both the public and private sector to attract more stakeholders.

The conference will provide a fantastic opportunity for potential investors, developers, agents, and consultants to debate the ambitions for the Central South region, ensuring it remains vibrant and competitive into the future.

This year the conference includes a variety of speakers from the public and private sectors. They include Sir Howard Bernstein, who was Chief Executive of Manchester City Council from 1998 to 2017, along with current Chief Executive of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, Graham Farrant.

Other speakers include Brett Trafford from Fawley Waterside Limited, Jessica Tresham from Womble Bond Dickinson, Robin Shepherd from Barton Willmore, Lucy Greenwood from Savills, and Peter Tisdale from THAT Group. They will also be joined by the writer and editor, Stacey Meadwell.

Along with the guest speakers, there will be a ‘meet the site owners zone’ where developers can liaise with council representatives to discuss fresh opportunities in the Central South

Leigh Sara-Timberlake, Executive Director of Business South, said:

We are one of the most significant and successful economic regions in the UK and we firmly believe there is a great deal to gain from business, LEPs, MPs and local Councillors working together to maintain and grow the area. Regenerate South provides the opportunity to bring together all of these regional influencers under one roof to work together for the wider benefit of the area, which is why it is such an important event.

We are also really looking forward to the launch of the Talking Central South website. This will provide an innovative and exciting new platform to showcase the region and ensure it maintains a high profile nationally and demonstrates that the Central South is very much open for business.

The conference at the Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth on 7 October 2021 runs from 09:00 to 14:00, more information and tickets can be found on the  Regenerate South event page.
