We are delighted to be official sponsors and creative partners of ‘Hares of Hampshire’, a free, family-friendly art trail run by local charity The Murray Parish Trust.

Each giant hare has been sponsored by a business and individually designed by local artists, showcasing the artistic talent the county has to offer while contributing to the economic, cultural, and social life of the area.

Our Hare has been designed by the talented Illona Clark and whilst we can’t share the design until summer, we can show you a sneak peek of the wonderful Mr. March. You can check out Illona’s impressive portfolio here.

The art trail will run from June 16th to September 4th 2022, with the sculptures installed across Winchester and Southampton bringing streets, parks, and public spaces to life with magnificent hares.

Residents and visitors will be able to find the hares using an interactive app that maps out the route allowing everyone to explore some of Winchester and Southampton’s famous landmarks including:

  • Winchester Cathedral
  • The Great Hall
  • Abbey Grounds
  • River Park
  • Southampton’s Guildhall Square
  • QE2 Mile
  • Cultural Quarter

As people visit each uniquely decorated Hare or Leveret, the app will allow users to receive special offers or discounts from the sponsors as well as display information about the artist, facts about the hare, and its location.

Our CEO Stephen Pomeroy said:

When asked to support this unique and interactive project we jumped at the chance to be involved. I have been so impressed and proud with how our teams have embraced this project and worked alongside the fantastic team at The Murray Parish Trust to bring it to life.

BECG was delighted to ‘hop on board’ as a creative partner to the Hares of Hampshire and our team has really enjoyed working the team at The Murray Parish Trust and Wild in Art to bring this campaign to life across all touchpoints.

The Hares of Hampshire event hopes to raise awareness and funds for The Murray Parish Trust which was founded in 2014 by actors Sarah Parish and James Murray in memory of their late daughter who died in 2009 due to a congenital heart condition.

The charity has raised millions of pounds towards facilities and equipment for critically ill or injured children at University Hospital Southampton, and recently they successfully raised money for a brand new intra-operative MRI (iMRI) scanner suite at Southampton Children’s Hospital (SCH).

Let us know if you attend the trail and find our BECG Hare by sharing a photo with us on social and using the hashtag #HaresOfHampshire. We hope to see you there!
