BECG was instructed by Transport for the North to work closely with its in-house team to develop and deliver a communications and stakeholder engagement strategy. This work included a focus on raising Transport for the North’s profile amongst political and business stakeholders to support its successful progression to statutory status as the first Sub-National Transport Body in England.
Our strategy included analysis of existing messaging and perception amongst internal and external stakeholders. This work fed into the development of corporate and work stream level key messages that resonated with stakeholders, helping to keep the organisation on the regional and national political agenda as well as building and mobilising the support of the business community.
The final product included feedback from the public and private sector including representatives across the organisation prior to its presentation and endorsement by its Operations Board. With internal investment and ownership of the messaging its rollout secured successful traction with politicians, the business community, and media, supporting Transport for the North’s successful path to statutory status.
The Group has added real value helping TfN focus its messaging and assisting in driving awareness amongst our broad range of stakeholders across the North, Westminster and Whitehall.
