In summer 2018, BECG was appointed by the Salvation Army to undertake community and political engagement for brand new UK and Ireland territorial headquarters in Denmark Hill, Southwark.
The Salvation Army had agreed to consolidate its property portfolio and sell its current HQ in Elephant and Castle. The new headquarters would be located on a sensitive site next to The William Booth Memorial College, a Grade II listed Sir Gilbert Scott training school for the Salvation Army’s cadets. BECG undertook extensive community engagement with local residents, Residents Associations, councillors and staff. The engagement culminated in a two-day exhibition on the site.
The scheme was unanimously approved by Southwark in April 2019.
