Background
Honingham Thorpe is being promoted through the Greater Norwich Local Plan process as a new settlement. Within the Plan period, the site can deliver some 3,600 homes, 72ha of employment space, a 200-acre country park, 3.5ha of nature reserve and significant infrastructure and ancillary development.
The site straddles the boundaries of South Norfolk District Council and Broadland District Council. Together with Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council, these four authorities are bringing forward the Greater Norwich Local Plan to guide development across the region.
How we are assisting
We have supported the project since 2018, delivering an engagement strategy that accounts for the differing politics across the component councils and the myriad of communities across the region that are engaged in the emerging Local Plan process.
We have produced collateral to support this engagement process, working closely with the project team to ensure that engagement with senior members and officers is coordinated.
Extolling Clarion’s core messaging has been key, with the client demonstrably able and determined to deliver their vision for the new settlement as a Housing Association that will have long-term stewardship over Honingham Thorpe.
Paul Lemar, Head of Strategic Land at Clarion Housing Group said:
“The team is always on top of the project and responsive, without seeking to expand their role unless it is justified. No mission creep, just practical reliable advice.”
