Web Developer

What it’s all about

We have an exciting opportunity to join a growing award-winning national agency – working primarily from our Southampton (Hedge End) office but some travel to our London office may be required.

BECG is an integrated communications agency working in the built environment sectors. Our services include PR and marketing, Public Affairs and Consultation, social media, brand strategy, design, video, content production, digital development and more.

We are looking for a passionate and agile developer with a proactive mindset to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for creating cross platform content, and your projects will be varied. From WrodPress websites, to apps, HTML5 banners, email templates, plus supporting site performance and tracking of digital campaigns.

What you’ll need to do

You’ll be responsible for creating innovative and technically robust digital solutions for BECG’s clients. With excellent knowledge of coding languages supporting both front-end and back-end development.

You will need to deliver and support the technical build of large-scale website, ecommerce, mobile and digital development projects, from inception to delivery.

Your interest in the latest digital design developments and trends, plus a desire to add value at every stage of the process.

Technical skills

Core technical skills that will be required include:

• Fluency in current development practices and development techniques, such as LAMP, PHP/MySQL, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
• Knowledge of how web-based technologies apply to web design such as HTML, LESS, SASS, CSS, and AJAX.
• WordPress development experience and understanding.
• Knowledge of website structure and functionality.
• Knowledge of site tracking of performance tools and implementations (E.g. Google Analytics events, campaigns, etc.)
• Knowledge of technologies to aid development as Git, Grunt, Gulp, NodeJs. (Advantageous but not essential)
• Adobe XD (advantageous but not essential)
• Experience of UX design and its principals (advantageous but not essential)
