Stephen Pomeroy

Chair

Stephen Pomeroy

Stephen Pomeroy features in PRWeek’s Top 10 in Public Affairs 2022. He is the Founder of BECG Group and Chair of the Advisory Board. He is a high-level strategist with 30 years’ experience in corporate, political and media communications. A devoted supporter of corporate social responsibility, Stephen has also advised many organisations on cause-related marketing and advocacy. He was previously a trustee of the UK charities Fixers and the Global White Lion Trust, and is currently a member of the City of London Skills for Sustainable Skyline Taskforce.

Steve Norris

Steve Norris

Steve Norris was a Conservative MP for 14 years during which time he served as Parliamentary Private Secretary in the departments of Environment, Trade and Industry and the Home Office before being appointed Minister for Transport. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Party and twice his party’s candidate for Mayor of London. Steve now chairs Soho Estates and runs his own property development business. He is also: Chair of the Council of the National Infrastructure Planning Association; advisor to a global train maker and Cubic Corporation who run the Oyster card system; President of ITS-UK, the UK branch of the global intelligent transport systems network; Chairman of Driver Group plc and an AIM listed provider of civil engineering advisory services. He is an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and an Honorary Fellow of the Association for Project Management.

Hannah David

Hannah David

Hannah David is a qualified (non-practising) planning/property solicitor with an MSc in Spatial Planning, who is currently a Director of the Planning/Housing thinktank, Planning Futures. Hannah was an elected member of Hertsmere Borough Council for nine years. She chaired various committees including Planning and Overview and Scrutiny and was the Cabinet member for Housing and Planning. In 2015 and 2017 Hannah stood for Parliament, as the Conservative Candidate for Harrow West. Hannah’s experience spans both the public and private sectors, and she is an expert in navigating the political system at local and national levels. She has an acute understanding of the practices and processes in delivering Planning and of the commercial environment it operates in.

Patrick Law

Patrick Law

Patrick Law has 30 years communications and public affairs experience, having designed and led communications teams at Centrica, British Gas, Barratt Developments, and the Guinness Partnership. He is a previous chair and trustee of the UK’s leading fuel poverty charity and is currently a trustee of the Hyde Housing Charitable Trust. Patrick now combines consultancy advice with writing a PhD on Blair’s Downing Street Chief of Staff. He recently won the Cabinet Secretary’s prize for research on the European Referendum and with Sir Michael Barber wrote a study of Education Secretaries. He has also written a study of how Housing Associations communicate.

George Mayhew

George Mayhew

George Mayhew is a communications executive with over 25 years of experience spanning multiple industries across the UK and US. He is the former Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Thames Water where he was responsible for all communications and government relations. Prior to that George was the Group Director of Corporate Affairs at National Grid for 12 years managing a team split between the UK, US, and Brussels. Before National Grid, George held a number of roles at BAE Systems including four years as Chief of Staff.

Rachel Bell

Rachel Bell

Rachel Bell is a serial entrepreneur having started seven multi-award-winning professional services businesses, across the marketing spectrum – the most notable being Shine Communications (now The Academy Media Group, of which she is Chair); John Doe Group (Chair) and Mischief PR (now part of Engine Group). Rachel’s newest consultancy, Brand Spanking, supports early-stage businesses in establishing best practice and helps founders unleash their potential. Her philosophy of promoting and developing talent has won her industry recognition including Sunday Times Best Leader. Rachel is an Entrepreneur in Residence at London Business School, President of the Business School’s Angel Investment Club – Enterprise 100 and an enthusiastic angel investor. Her book Start-Ups, Pivots and Pop-ups was a finalist in the Business Book Awards 2020. 

Andrew Howard

Andrew Howard

Andrew is an expert in the UK property and development industry. Co-founder of BECG Group, and previously Head of Communications at NHBC, he has advised on high-profile, complex development projects. He served as a Borough Councillor in Surrey and sat on the housing, planning and policy committees. Andrew was a parliamentary candidate in 1997 and 2000. He was appointed to the Board of a specialist learning disabilities NHS Health Trust and became Chairman of an NHS Community Health Trust. Andrew also worked for the disability charity Scope as a parliamentary lobbyist. He was part of the consortium of public affairs specialists who helped to steer the Disabilities in Education Act through Parliament.
