The Word: BECG sponsor Women in Property’s expert podcast series
Responding to membership behaviours and sparked by the increasing need to move engagement online, Women in Property is launching The Word, an expert podcast series, sponsored by BECG. This podcast will ensure Women in Property members and wider professional property communities are informed, key issues continue to be debated, discussed and core lessons shared.
The inaugural podcast launches today and is focused on How is Covid-19 affecting global impact on climate change? Louise Ellison, Group Head of Sustainability at Hammerson and Chairman of the Better Buildings Partnership, is joined by Keith Clarke, Chairman of Constructionarium, Chairman of the Active Building Centre and Women in Property Advisory Board member, where they discuss the impact coronavirus has had and continues to have on the way we live our lives and the impact on the planet. Whilst there are very few positives to be taken from the global pandemic, Louise and Keith consider how we emerge from this cataclysmic shift in behaviour and adopt a more thoughtful approach to the climate emergency facing our generation and generations to come.
‘The Word’, a monthly podcast, will explore a range of topics and issues close to the heart of its membership and in line with the societal and cultural hot topics. Over the coming months the series will be speaking with experts relating to agile working, mental health in the sector, skills gaps and Women in Property’s own student awards programme.
Monica Green, National Chairman at Women in Property is hugely excited about this launch, she said:
“Whilst this has been in the planning stages for some time, the Covid-19 impact has encouraged us to launch this series sooner than originally planned. We want to ensure that we continue to provide the most engaging, thought provoking content for our audiences as they go about finding the ‘new normal’. Whilst we can’t get together at events and roundtables to debate and dissect key issues impacting the sector, we can share opinions and thoughts directly into home offices or into headphones as people take their daily exercise. We hope you enjoy the topics that we will be discussing together over the coming months, please do engage with the content via Twitter and using the hashtag #theword.”
With around 7.1 million adults in the UK tuning in to podcasts each week (Ofcom 2019), the podcast medium is currently experiencing a rapid rise in popularity. BECG has helped Women in Property bring the vision to life by producing ‘The Word’ podcast and creating a visual brand identity.
Engaging content is at the heart of driving conversations and changing behaviour. We are proud to be sponsoring and producing The Word and are excited about how this communications tool will help the membership organisation engage with their audiences in new ways. Traditional face to face communication will never be replaced, however, shaking up methods is a sure-fire way to reignite engagement with your audiences. Now more than ever, as the UK continues to be on lockdown, there is a need to share creative conversations and spark debate, directly with audiences, what better way than via podcasts.
