Award-winning communications experts in the built environment
It’s two days before we go to the polls and as General Election fever rises, we have commissioned Savanta ComRes to undertake an exclusive public opinion poll.
The survey of 2,000 people carried out in the first week of December shows what the public actually think about the key built environment pledges from each of the three main political parties.
Each question was asked in two ways: Half the sample were asked about policies with the relevant party leader’s name attached to the pledge, the other half of the sample were only asked about policies without them being linked to a particular party or leader.
Our survey shows that the affordability of housing seems to matter most as does spending on road infrastructure. The Lib Dems’ pledge to rule out permission for any new airport runways is not popular across the country as a whole.
Our survey also shows that the voters neither trust private developers or the public sector to build the new homes the country needs. Only 20% to 25% of voters trust the public or private sector to deliver the housing the country needs.
