Nick Sutcliffe

Director

Nick has a 15-year track record of success advising high-profile clients and now leads on BECG projects for public and private sector clients including TfL, Legal & General, Sellar, Barratt Homes, Eurohotels and TJX Europe on the process of securing planning consents.

Based in the London office, Nick has grown BECG’s client offering through his wealth of experience in many of the most controversial development sectors including prime central London residential, large strategic land allocations and on-shore oil and shale gas exploration. Focusing in London and the surrounding areas, Nick has worked on a number of high-profile developments, such as the redevelopment of South Kensington Underground Station, Kensington & Chelsea’s Genting Casino and the new opera house at West Horsley Place.

As a public affairs specialist, Nick also provides Westminster Government relations advice, specialising in energy and environmental issues. Nick was formerly a local Councillor in Guildford, serving over 12 years on a planning committee, as well as having been the Cabinet Member for planning policy for six years.

Ali Craft

Associate Director

Ali is a political and communications professional with over eleven years’ experience working in Labour politics including two years as Deputy Director of London Labour Party. This has given Ali an unrivalled understanding of the operation of the Labour Party across all 32 London boroughs.

Ali has developed close relationships with senior politicians and decision makers across the capital including the Mayor of London and his senior team, MPs, local government leaders and the trade unions.

David Button

Senior Account Director

David has more than six years’ experience of designing and delivering national public affairs and stakeholder engagement programmes for property, housing, transport, local government, health and third sector clients.

He leads our work with McCarthy & Stone in London and the home counties, as well as working across London and the South East on projects for clients including Stonewater, Flogas, British Land, Fairview and Watford Borough Council. He has a particular expertise in supporting housing associations and industrial developers with their local and national stakeholder engagement, and he has strong experience of working with local councils on their Local Plan consultations.

David also has a long track record of helping clients to build their influence with Government and parliamentary stakeholders, and is expert in the parliamentary process. His work has helped clients achieve legislative change including securing significant funding for infrastructure projects, exemptions to legislation, and reversing harmful policy decisions.
