Account Manager (PR) – London
We are looking for a talented individual with a background in public relations and corporate communications, and a passion for a career in the built environment sector. The suitable candidate will ideally have experience working within one or more of the property, infrastructure, energy, or environment sectors, with established media and industry networks. You will be an enthusiastic and self-starting individual with a passion for the media and communications, and a highly organised multi-tasker, able to drive forward PR programmes in collaboration with your Account Director and Account Executive colleagues. You will have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with journalists, clients, partner agencies, and suppliers. With a commercial focus, you will be the key to delivering PR programmes and campaigns on time and on budget, whilst maintaining high levels of service to your clients. The role also provides the opportunity to be involved in new business and client development, building the skills to allow you to take the next step in your career to Account Director.
Desirable experience includes:
- Delivering public relations, corporate communications, crisis communications, and social media programmes
- An excellent communicator, with strong copywriting and inter-personal skills
- An in-depth knowledge of media relations and how to secure coverage results
- Existing media networks, ideally within property and other built environment sectors
- Strong project management skills, and the ability to deliver multiple client programmes simultaneously
- Experience of working in an agency setting
- Briefing designers and videographers to produce rich content
Responsibilities and Duties
Working with Directors, Account Directors and the wider team you will be responsible for delivering PR and social media programmes across a range of client accounts. You will support ADs and Directors to develop effective strategies, and then manage Account Executives to deliver PR programmes on time and within budget. At the same time, you will be the key day-to-day liaison with the client, taking briefs, sourcing information, copy-writing, and producing rich-content e.g. infographics, video, with our in-house creative studio. You will be aware of the commercial objectives of your Account Director and will assist them to track profitability and servicing levels on all accounts. There will be opportunity to participate in new business pitches and proposals, attend networking events, and support the PR team’s marketing activity.
Inside BECG there will be the opportunity to be a line manager to Account Executives, coaching them to develop the skills and behaviours to work as a successful unit under your management, and advance their own careers in PR.
