Councillor attitudes to net zero and the climate crisis

Last year BECG launched its campaign to work with the public and private sectors to discuss the UK’s journey to net zero.

Our aim was to better understand the action being taken by those in the built environment sector to reduce carbon emissions, and to help shape local and national policy.

Building on the extensive research we have undertaken to date, we recently commissioned Savanta ComRes to undertake a survey on local councillors’ attitudes to net zero and the Government’s approach to tackling climate change.

To bring you our most comprehensive report ever, we have compared these findings from our latest survey with other climate-focused polling we have commissioned over the past 12-months.
